As the humanitarian crisis continues to unfold in areas devastated by Hurricane Maria, community groups are responding with various relief efforts. Westchester County, home to more than 44,000 Americans from Puerto Rico, has launched a Hurricane Relief for Puerto Rico". The collection efforts include monetary donations and supplies.
Phelps Hospital Center of Sleepy Hollow Sleepy accepted donations of new, unopened items such as diapers, baby wipes, baby formulas, personal hygiene/care items etc. until last Saturday, Oct 7.
As of now, there are still many ongoing relief efforts. Here is a list of some organizations still accepting donations:
Collection bins will be located at the following county offices in White Plains during regular business hours: Westchester County Office Building,DSS Central Office, White Plains District Office and Westchester County Center.
Monetary donations for the purchase of essential supplies and/or the shipping of those supplies may be made by ChaseQuick Pay or via PayPal to PRelief@westchestergov.com or PayPal to: PRRelief@westchestergov.com.
