On December 21, 2017, Mr. George Menduina, of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Department of Buses, was presented a check from NuEnergen for $443,984.05 for the agency’s participation in summer 2017 Demand Response (DR) programs. Demand Response programs administered by the New York State Independent Grid Operator (NYISO) and Con Edison pay customers to reduce energy use at peak demand times in order to prevent blackouts and brownouts on hot summer days. NuEnergen has been contracted by the MTA to identify, implement and grow DR opportunity across its agencies’ facilities portfolios thusly providing a revenue stream to fund resiliency measures and to provide energy equipment upgrades at MTA facilities.
Demand Response has become a critically important energy program with the MTA Department of Buses. It was a tremendous moment for all those involved. From the entire NuEnergen team, congratulations to the MTA Department of Buses. We are proud to be your Demand Response Services partner.
