The Green Business Partnership, a program of the Business Council of Westchester in affiliation with Westchester County and Green Team Spirit LLC honored 7 organizations at the 8th Annual Green Business Partnership Awards in Peekskill, NY on Tuesday.
The Green Business Partnership team guides businesses through the rewarding process of becoming more sustainable in all areas of operation. GBP members have become industry leaders and proven that you can reduce your impact on the environment and improve productivity and profitability at the same time.
As the leading expert in energy management, NuEnergen attended the sunny and inspirational award ceremony as great supporters of sustainability in business for Westchester County, the great state of New York and beyond. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals attended as a proud sponsor of this Green Business Partnership Award event and is doing their part to reduce their energy usage through enrollment of NuEnergen’s Demand Response program. Enrolled members receive significant recurring payments by lowering usage during critical periods when the power grid is stressed and at risk of failure. “NuEnergen works hard to optimize our Client’s financial return for participating in these crucial sustainability programs,” says Kevin Hamilton, President and CEO of NuEnergen.
A big award for Sustainability was given to The Greenburgh Nature Center, a 33-acre nonprofit nature preserve, for its commitment to best sustainable practices, which is demonstrated in its own operations and in many initiatives designed to educate, train and engage the entire community. “The Nature Center is thrilled and honored to receive this recognition,” says Margaret Tjimos-Goldberg, Executive Director of the Greenburgh Nature Center. “This is a testament to our dedicated work in the area of sustainability.”
Yonkers Tennis Center, White Plains Linen, Pell Wealth Partners, Arc of Westchester, Teatown Lake Reservation, and Birdie’s Auto Spa were also among the evening’s Award winners. “These businesses exemplify not only the environmental benefit of becoming sustainable, but also demonstrate that doing so helps them be more competitive and more profitable and engages employees in a process that’s fun and rewarding,” said Dani Glaser, Green Business Partnership Program Director and owner of Green Team Spirit LLC.
Congratulations to all of the award recipients who were celebrated as community-minded neighbors of Westchester County. Thank you to the Green Business Partnership (GBP) for helping businesses realize and reduce their impact on the environment in a measurable and meaningful way.
