April 11, 2019 – Westchester County Executive George Latimer delivered his State of the County address in White Plains, NY. The remarks recounted the accomplishments made by Latimer and his administration throughout the first year of his term.
Among the many initiatives listed of working together to achieve more for the residents of Westchester County included program participation for Demand Response as managed by NuEnergen, LLC. Latimer described the program as reducing electric usage during peak periods of demand which will in turn generate revenue to the county. He stated, "The utilities will not have to buy valuable electricity at a peak period of time off the grid at a premium price, we go off the grid, along with others they can satisfy within their existing capacity and it's worth them compensating our county."
George continued by urging his friends in local government to consider their own participation in Demand Response as a proven creative solution for revenue generation, "...you should check this out. If you remember nothing from this long speech, write it down: NuEnergen, makes money".
Similar Demand Response programs managed by NuEnergen have already proved to be successful with the City of New York, the NY/NJ Port Authority and the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) who have collectively earned millions of dollars since its inception.
